One Man’s Recovery Story

After COVID, a collapsed lung and pulmonary embolism Linton White recovery story

Some recovery stories stay with you because they show how quickly life can change — and how important the right support can feel when someone is trying to rebuild strength, confidence and normal daily function.

Linton White shared a powerful personal experience after a serious battle with COVID and major respiratory complications, including a pulmonary embolism, a collapsed lung and the need for a thoracotomy.

After A Serious Health Battle

After what Linton described as a close escape from death, he was discharged from hospital and continued using a high-grade oxygen concentrator at home.

Although he was no longer in hospital, he felt as if he was deteriorating. The fear of possibly needing to return to hospital was overwhelming, and he knew that something needed to change.

During this time, Linton began speaking to people and exploring additional ways to support his recovery.

Choosing To Try A Hyperbaric Oxygen Environment

After consulting with a number of people, Linton made the decision to try sessions in a Solid O2 hyperbaric oxygen environment.

For him, this decision became a turning point in his recovery journey.

Linton says that after completing 20 sessions at a Solid O2 hyperbaric oxygen chamber, he no longer needed supplemental oxygen, had returned to work, and felt that his lung function was continuing to improve.

He also shared that he could walk up stairs again without feeling like he was “climbing Mount Everest.”

Why This Story Matters

Stories like Linton’s are one of the reasons many people become curious about oxygen-based hyperbaric environments, especially after serious illness, respiratory stress or long recovery periods.

At the same time, it is important to understand that individual experiences are personal and may not reflect typical results. Hyperbaric oxygen environments should not be presented as a cure or replacement for medical care.

Instead, they may form part of a broader wellness and recovery conversation where people are looking for structured, supportive environments.

Understanding MedHBOT, HBOT and mHBOT

Not all hyperbaric environments operate in the same way.

Some environments are hospital-based HBOT systems. Others are mild hyperbaric environments. Solid O2 focuses on MedHBOT, which refers to a structured medium hyperbaric oxygen environment supported by equipment standards, servicing procedures, operational protocols and staff training.

Understanding these differences helps people make more informed decisions before booking any hyperbaric oxygen session.

Testimonial

“After having a serious war with COVID, complications such as a pulmonary embolism and a collapsed lung which resulted in the need of a thoracotomy, I can honestly say that my recovery is largely due to the Solid O2 hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

After a close escape from death, I was discharged from hospital and was using a high-grade oxygen concentrator. I felt like I was deteriorating and the fear of possibly needing to go back to hospital was overwhelming. I knew that something needed to be done.

I made the decision to try hyperbaric oxygen treatment after consulting with a number of people. This has turned out to be the best decision I could have made.

After just 20 sessions at a Solid O2 hyperbaric oxygen chamber, I no longer need oxygen. I am back at work and my lung function is constantly improving. I can even walk up stairs without feeling like I’m climbing Mount Everest.

Thank you to the Solid O2 team. You are really making a difference by offering an affordable and accessible solution to this type of therapy.”
